But a member of the New England delegation, my friend We Chang, asked the Bishop to change her language around a motion being “defeated” so that we don’t use war and violence language. The Bishop loved the suggestion and it got applause from the gallery!

We, too, were in the gallery and applauding when it happened. God bless We Chang. I got to observe We as he chaired subgroup in Church and Society Legislative Committee 1 and then again as he made good witness several times on the floor. Though we may not be able to attend GC in 2012, we look forward to a growing presence of young people like you to take the place of some of us older folks. You will make the difference!
